Debra B. Burger, Psy.D.
Licensed Clinical Psychologist
Debra B. Burger, Psy.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist in the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Virginia and the State of Maryland. She earned her B.A. in Psychology from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill where she was a Division I athlete. After graduating, she worked in Sports Marketing for several years before returning to graduate school. Dr. Burger earned her Doctorate in Psychology from The George Washington University, and has worked in various mental health settings including The Renfrew Center (specializing in Eating Disorders), Georgetown University Counseling and Psychiatric Service, the Psychiatric Institute of Washington, The Lodge School, and several private schools in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Dr. Burger specializes in treating adolescents and adults in individual psychotherapy as well as family and couples therapy, and has a particular interest in psycho-educational and neuropsychological testing. She is also a member of National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology and the American Psychological Association (APA).
Dana J. Grasso, MA, Psy.D.
Licensed Clinical Psychologist
Dana J. Grasso, Psy.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist in the District of Columbia and the Commonwealth of Virginia. She earned her B.A. in Psychology from Georgetown University and worked in support of Guardian Ad Litems and child advocates in DC before receiving a M.A. in Forensic Psychology from the John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Dr. Grasso began evaluating children and adolescents at Sagamore Children’s Psychiatric Center in 1999 and then went on to earn a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the George Washington University. Dr. Grasso provided individual and group therapy and psychological testing at the Children and Family Network Center preschool in Alexandria, Virginia and then at the DC Superior Court Child Guidance Clinic while attending GW. She completed an APA-accredited internship at the Queens Children’s Psychiatric Center in New York and has since been conducting comprehensive evaluations for public and private multi-disciplinary educational teams, individuals, physicians, therapists, and others in the DC Metro area. Since 2008, Dr. Grasso has also been on staff at a local full-time special educational center where she provides psychological services to children and adolescents experiencing emotional and learning difficulties. She continues to develop sports therapy programs to address the needs of at-risk athletically-minded youth. Dr. Grasso is experienced in diagnosing and treating complex issues that face school-aged children, including developmental concerns, learning challenges, mood and behavioral problems, trauma, and interpersonal difficulties. She is particularly dedicated to making the evaluation process comfortable and meaningful for children, adolescents, and young adults. Dr. Grasso is Assistant Clinical Professor of Clinical Psychology at the George Washington University, and a member of National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology, Psi Chi Honor Society, The American Psychological Association (APA), and the Society for Personality Assessment.
Sarah L. Hedlund, Ph.D.
Licensed Clinical Psychologist
Sarah L. Hedlund is a licensed clinical psychologist in the District of Columbia and the state of Maryland. She earned her B.A. from Tufts University, Ph.D. from The George Washington University, and completed the Fielding University Neuropsychological Assessment Post Graduate Program.
Dr. Hedlund is an expert in psychological assessment. She conducts neuropsychological, psychological, and educational evaluations with children, adolescents, and adults. She teaches child assessment at George Washington University and supervises doctoral candidates’ assessment practicums. She also conducts individual therapy with children, youth and adults. She engages in premarital counseling and couples therapy. She facilitates groups in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She is Director of Training at the Lodge Program at the Frost School, where she conducts individual therapy, group therapy, and psychological assessments with severely emotionally disturbed adolescents. She completed her internship at Howard University's Counseling Center and is on the Medical Staff at Sheppard Enoch Pratt Hospital and Suburban Hospital.
